Why Making You Worry
Gets Your Attention

Why making you worry gets your attention - and some Internet marketers use your fear to stand out from the crowd.

What happens when you see a headline on the Internet that reads

"Don't Buy This Until You Read My Review"

OR

"Is This A Scam?"

If you're new to Internet marketing - you might stop to read what the author of those headlines has to say.

But if you've been making money online for a while - you know better.

The Hidden Persuaders

Years ago, I read a book called "The Hidden Persuaders." The book was a fascinating look into the world of advertising.

One story I recall had to do with the coffee section of any super market or grocery story in the United States.

When you passed by the coffee isle, you may not have noticed, but all the coffee cans were various shades of hot colors in the red spectrum.

So when the marketers for Uban coffee put their product together, they decided to stand out from the others by going the opposite direction from red - their coffee can was a cool shade of green.

The result - they stood out from their competition and got noticed.

Internet Marketers Use This Tool Too

Today, some Internet marketers use fear to stand out from the crowd. But instead of writing a headline that makes you interested in the product - they write a headline that makes you think they know something negative about the product you're interested in.

Don't Buy This Until You Read My Review

The above headline acts like a blinking neon sign that shouts a warning - "you need to read this and read it now - or you'll waste your money and your time."

I absolutely encourage you to read any review that reads like a warning - and you'll begin to notice a trend.

Most of these negative headlines are simply product reviews written by Internet marketers who want you to buy the product from them - so they get the commission.

Oops - Their Lack Of Credibility Is Showing

Yes - they might make a few more sales, but many more folks who end up reading their article will realize that they've been had - and they won't go away with a positive impression of the author.

Winning Their Trust

Like the Uban Coffee story I mentioned above, the author will stand out, but unlike Uban coffee, these authors will stand out in a negative way. The authors will loose your trust - and your trust is exactly what they should be trying to win over.

Internet professionals know that your article headline is what grabs the potential reader - but they also know that deceptive, misleading or over-the-top headlines turn potential readers away.

High Quality, Original Content

You're articles will be winners and you'll develop a loyal following if you deliver and keep delivering high quality, original content that OVER delivers the information your reader is looking for.

Give your reader what they want and you'll both win.
